Some things are too delicious not to share.
These M&M Cookie Dough Cups had the potential to be perfectly done and pretty, but my impatience got the best of me and most of the cups ended up jagged and a little funny looking. Luckily they tasted so good I forgot how funky looking they were while I was eating them! Next time I’ll take my time to get a prettier product
M&M Cookie Dough Cups
Makes ~16 cups
Ingredients:
16 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup M&Ms
Directions:
Prepare chocolate cups: Line muffin tins with paper cup holders and set aside. Melt chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in-between
Once chocolate is completely melted, paint a layer on the inside of each paper cup holder with a paintbrush or the back of a spoon; the thicker the chocolate layer, the easier it will be to peel your paper
Set chocolate cups aside to cool in fridge and prepare cookie dough
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and salt; set aside
Beat butter and sugars with an electric mixer on medium-high speed for a few minutes or until light and fluffy; add vanilla and beat for another minute
Scrape the sides of the bowl and stir in flour on low speed until combined; stir in M&Ms
Set cookie dough aside
Carefully remove paper liners from chocolate cups; scoop cookie dough into each cup using an ice cream scoop
Store cookie dough cups in fridge until ready to serve
I’m the same way! I’m usually so excited that I continue on to the next step and forget the waiting part. Like icing a cake. I’m just so excited to see if this time I can get a good result for once and so I don’t let it cool and it gets all melty and then it’s all ruined. It makes me want to cry.
But these at least look interesting with their jagged edges. You made modern cookie dough and chocolate art. Few people can say that. :)
I’d use that as an excuse to eat warm cake with icing by myself lol!
so they’re almost like Reese’s…but with cookie dough in them. You’re killing me! SO GOOD.
These look incredibly decadent – M&M cookie dough? What next :D
And I love your lil choc cups – the jagged edges are cool!
Cheers

Hey, even though they don’t look the prettiest, I bet they still taste the best! :D I’d eat ’em! ;-)
THESE LOOK AMAZING!! It needed caps.
:-)!
I have to admit that I am a total cookie fiend! I can’t help myself! These sound phenomenal! Thanks for sharing Lauren!
I will be eating this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner thank you very much. :)
Such a good call:-)
I made the same chocolate cups for a “fancy” dessert once for a dinner party. Patience (and enough chocolate) are key!
But they still totally taste awesome. I put gelato in the center of mine and covered it with a mixed berry coulis. Sooo good!
That is a great idea, I bet yours were so pretty!
Who cares if they’re not the most beautiful thing? Bet they taste in-credible.
So cute! I love that you’ve conveniently packaged my cookie dough in a candy holder to make my decadence even more pleasant. :)
I like the jagged ones! They look rustic and inviting ;)
Mmmm!!!! Way cuter than eating it by the spoonful.
I actually think these look really cool! Very abstract :)
Wow cares what they look like, I want!
These look great! When I first saw the picture, I thought you magically scooped out a peanut butter cup and filled with cookie dough!
Lol I would totally do that and eat the peanut butter filling:-)
These look amazing!!
Such great looking cups. Your chocolate work is impressive!
Oh, how we love anything cookie dough at our house! These are adorable.
I wouldn’t have been able to wait either! I couldn’t READ the recipe fast enough!
this is so cute and creative!!
These are BEAUTIFUL, Lauren!!!
What an adorable idea! Great for a party or whatnot :) I can imagine the cups can be used for a variety of things too!
I absolutely love these! So adorable and creative!!
I would be exactly the same! Who has time to wait for patience when there’s important cookie dough eating to be done?!
My daughter and I were just eating cookie dough! Can’t wait to show her these and make them, too! They look amazing.
I have no patience! They are “rustic”, just go with that :) They could fantastic, no matter what!
Mmmnnn! This look good enough to eat and that is what counts.
I wouldn’t go looking for pretty if the treats are as delicious-looking as this! Thanks for sharing!
Beauty is overrated anyway. Taste is where it’s at!
I think they look fantastic! I actually prefer things to be a little asymmetrical and off-kilter. It makes them look more real, and homemade, I guess. I would never have thought of this, but this is a fabulous idea!! Can’t wait to try it!
Thanks, Jen!
Truly, I’d have rushed to the end product too…these look so good!
I love them! and the cups look just perfect to me!
love these chocolate cups such a great idea!
I bet those are so yum!!

It’s sometimes such a pain to be a food blogger because all you want to do is devour these amazing treats that you’re making but then you have to perfect them for the photos. And then you can’t eat any of them until the “photo shoot” is done! That being said, your cookie dough cups do look perfect, and the jagged edges gives it a more rustic look. Well done!
You had me at “cookie dough” these look and sound delectable!
oh these definitely look perfectly edible and delicious to me! :)
